Among the many delightful features in these knights you're painting, the one that really struck me in today's post is the work on the bases. Simple, but really vivid and effective. What's your technique?
thanks Matthew! I'm using the Vallejo FX white ground texture, over which I spray fine sand and small pieces of cork. Undercoat in black, followed by a basecoat of VMC German Camo Dark green, followed by a wash of VMC Chocolate brown. I use then three different tones of Sennelier pastels to color and highlight the ground (the stones are painted with two tones of gray).
Beautifull job. Keep pushing!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's harder and harder :p
DeleteLooking great so far, finished unit will be worth the wait.
ReplyDeleteYup. Finishing the 5th horse will be a relief!
DeleteC'est copieux! Tu dois les sentir passer avec ce que tu t'infliges question free-hands :D
ReplyDeletePunaise ;) le premier pour définir le schéma, le second pour affiner, mais les suivants... des heures d'épines interminables !
