Heavy bombard and crew #1

For this bombard, I wanted to show the crewmen installing the war machine before the battle. Nothing extraordinary, just an excuse to use some badly sculpted villagers and this wonderful model (third time I paint it, always a pleasure).
The cannon is an old Citadel model, but you can find an equivalent (not exactly the same) in the Wargames Foundry range.

Next posts, the ugly guys ;)

Dwarf spotter and organ gun complete

Last but not least crew for the organ gun, the spotter!

Now the unit is complete, it's clear that the face of the gunner is a disaster. I should have kept the original mantlet to hide him :p

Same guys, different positions.

(two days later) I've finally touched up the gunner. New (and last) pictures:

Dwarf loader

Second crewman for the organ gun, it's not exactly a "3rd edition model", but if one excepts the big and useless ring in his back, the sculpting job is rather good (love the beard!).

Next time, the spotter!

A war engine for my 100th post

OK, new year and hopefully the last one to conclude this neverending dwarf army story. As usual, I'm starting with what I like the least: here, the Marauder Miniatures organ gun (unfortunately, I wasn't lucky enough to get the old Citadel one).

If you know the original model, you can see that I have removed the wheel scythes and the mantlet with pikes, too agressive for my taste (and absolutely useless). Despite these modifications, I find the warmachine a little bit oversized for dwarves. Anyway...

As the base was quite large (50x50), I've added a wooden bucket found on an Empire plastic sprue. Concerning the painting job, I've tried to use the same colours as on the first cannon... with less success I'm afraid.

Two more crewmen to paint to add 105 new points to this army :)
