More processionaries

Useless models in an army, but fun to paint. The central model is a slightly converted astropath from the old Talisman range, flanked by two tiny servitors from meridianminiatures.

I still have a few ideas and remaining models on the desk, but the motivation is low. At the very least, I need to paint the White Lady to consider this army complete.

The Marblers

In the wake of the Cult of the Mourners, the Marblers are sometimes seen, led by a Master Mason or "Maître Tombier" in Bretonnian. Obsessed with death, they work tirelessly on the tombstones and monuments that will celebrate the glory of those who fell in battle for the White Lady.

Londres, British Library, Estoire del saint Graal (ca. 1317)

You will easily recognize the four crew members of the bretonnian field trebuchet, accompanied by an old C46 Militia miniature, "Malin One-Eye", whose arms I swapped with those of one of Zondara's Gravebreakers, and the strongman, another C46 villager.

And the whole band:

The processionaries

I'm getting tired of this army, but I still have a lot of unfinished business on my work desk. So... 4 more models.

The bearers of the heraldic candles are two converted crewmen of the second version of the Empire Volley Gun. Really happy with the one holding his hat. As for the other one... let's say that I didn't want to leave it in the cemetary of half-baked conversions. 😐

The monks are Citadel Clerics released in the 80s: I have simply glued some relics on the Friar model, and swapped the weapon and the head of the Holy Man model.

 And we're done with non-fighters!

More peasants

Can't help adding peasants to my Castle Wittgenstein army. The last ones. I swear.

Four brothers. Simple villagers, and a true cannibal.

An a total of 20 peasants:

See you soon with a new project!

More cannibals

The 6th edition of the OWAC is over, but I had a few miniatures left I wanted to paint to join Castle Wittgenstein: some of them are particularly ugly (can't remember why I bought them 😝), and it was my last chance to find a use for them. Anyway, I present you the 5 last cannibals prepared for the challenge, plus a small Confrontation miniature. The Citadel models are C46 villagers, and F4 mercenaries, all slightly converted to try to improve their look, or to better match to the theme.

The resulting band, composed of 16 miniatures, can be split into two units of 8 fleglers, as allowed by the 3rd edition Warhammer Armies book.

See you soon with the final shots of Castle Wittgenstein army!

OWAC VI - The Villagers

March is done, give me a drink! Well... maybe not, after all. The Rotgut booze prepared by the good doctor Jean Rousseaux - and sold only for 6 pennies the bottle! - is not exactly the kind of medicine you would expect from a physician: a mixture of alcohol and juniper berries... flavoured with the powdered warpstone, gently provided by Lady Margritte von Wittgenstein.

Needless to say that the peasants and farm-workers of Wittgendorf that are addicted to the Rotgut booze are both mentally and physically damaged.

Still, the 10 models painted this month are in a rather good shape (if one excepts the bandages hiding minor mutations). The miniatures come mainly from two Citadel ranges: the C46 Militia & Villagers, and the F4 Mercenaries. Only two models have been converted to receive a spear. In terms of painting, I have used purple and light blue in the skintones to suggest that there could be something wrong with some Wittgendorfers.

The villagers are led by Kurt Kutzmann, doctor Rousseaux's loyal assistant. Intoxicated by the booze he's selling to the peasants, he's totally idiotic, and giggles all the time. In terms of miniature, I have painted a citizen from the Marauder Miniatures MM62 range.

The Wittgendorfers:

See you next month!

The Merchant of Nuln

The Merchant of Nuln was initially painted to join the guildmasters of Pfeildorf, but I've finally decided to give him his own regiment, a bunch of hired gunners.

The model is an old C2 wizard, Derver, designed by Aly Morrison, while Hugo the halfling was probably designed by one of the Perry twins.

The squire and the page

Two retainers follow Baron Markus Toppenheimer on the battlefield: the squire is a slightly converted MM62 citizen (reference CZ 12), while the page boy comes from the original "Battle Lord" pack designed by Mark Copplestone.

Charge!

And the models painted these last two months:
