OWAC VI - The Villagers

March is done, give me a drink! Well... maybe not, after all. The Rotgut booze prepared by the good doctor Jean Rousseaux - and sold only for 6 pennies the bottle! - is not exactly the kind of medicine you would expect from a physician: a mixture of alcohol and juniper berries... flavoured with the powdered warpstone, gently provided by Lady Margritte von Wittgenstein. 

Needless to say that the peasants and farm-workers of Wittgendorf that are addicted to the Rotgut booze are both mentally and physically damaged.

Still, the 10 models painted this month are in a rather good shape (if one excepts the bandages hiding minor mutations). The miniatures come mainly from two Citadel ranges: the C46 Militia & Villagers, and the F4 Mercenaries. Only two models have been converted to receive a spear. In terms of painting, I have used purple and light blue in the skintones to suggest that there could be something wrong with some Wittgendorfers.

The villagers are led by Kurt Kutzmann, doctor Rousseaux's loyal assistant. Intoxicated by the booze he's selling to the peasants, he's totally idiotic, and giggles all the time. In terms of miniature, I have painted a citizen from the Marauder Miniatures MM62 range.

OWAC VI - The Halberdiers

Second batch of guards protecting Castle Wittgenstein, this time armed with halberds, but still wearing full-face masks. Most of the models are the splendid halberdiers designed by thte Perry twins for the 4th edition Warhammer Empire army. I have simply changed thir heads, and added a few details.

The standard bearer is a minor conversion of the original Sergeant Kratz.

The only thing I've been able to keep from the "official" coats of arms of Wittgenstein's family is... the grey tones (the severed heads are bits stolen to the splendid AoS Kruleboyz)

OWAC VI - The Crossbowmen

A modest beginning with the crossbowmen defending Castle Wittgenstein. To hide their corruption, they're all wearing full-face masks. Not ideal to have a beer!

In terms of colours, the overall scheme is pretty dull. Wittgenstein Barony being part of the Reikland, I have opted for a dirty white base for the uniforms, sometimes complemented by black stripes... The rare glimpses of diseased flesh have received a basecoat of Vallejo Game Color Tan, shaded with Dark fleshtone and Violet ink, and highlighted with Dead flesh and light blue. I've also changed my recipe for NMM, using neutral instead of bluish greys. Can't say it improves the gloomy feeling!

First you'll recognize the guard model proposed in the original scenario pack, painted 3 times 😜

Then come Men-At-Arms and Mercenaries (Citadel C26 and F4). Only two are original miniatures:
