Buy Skaven, sell dwarfs!

OK, step 2 of my plan: the legendary pages featuring Mr. Chambers' ratmen. I think I've read this article at least a thousand times: the amazing number of painted models, the choice of colors, the banners, the conversion ideas... should you buy a White Dwarf issue in your life, this is definitely number 137.

Now, you have an excellent reason to sell your dwarfs to buy these magnificent models sculpted by the grandmaster himself, Jes Goodwin!






Damn', I'm pretty sure I've seen the screaming bell Andy mentions in his conclusions in another issue of WD... sadly, I can't find it.

P.S. Don't forget to visit Nico's blog, he painted a great skaven army last year.

    Agree - this is a great army. After seeing this post I had to read it myself (again). I think you are right about the screaming bell - I'm sure I have seen it in WD. If I find it, I'll let you know. /Hans

    Autre sujet, tu penses aller au Oldhammer Day?

      Pas de quoi, cette armée est pour moi une référence !
      Pour la cloche, je n'ai rien vu dans le compendium : http://solegends.com/citcat1985comp3/index.htm
      Et pour le Oldhammer Day, je crains hélas de devoir passer mon tour : je risque d'avoir un programme chargé début septembre et peu de temps pour m'y préparer :/

      Le Third Citadel Compendium sur Solegends n'est pas complet, Il manque l'article de présentation de la race Skaven par Jes Goodwin. Tu peux le trouver en français dans le Heraut Citadel N°3... Bref
      Si tu souhaites malgrés tout te rendre à Nottigham, dit le moi j'y vais en voiture et il me reste de la place.

    White Dwarf 193 had an interview with the great man himself. It in you get to see that Screaming Bell. Never knew about this article though. Such great colour and conversions. Thanks for posting that!

      I understand you ,i have 3000 pts of full Jes Goodwin sculpted skaven army, and i would like to paint it like Andy's but i'm such a crappy artist.I have the Goodwin Blood Bowl players too, best design ever.Here's a pic of the screaming bell.
      And anybody know how the rat ogre of the warlord was done ? Bugging me since 19 years...

      Nico has found a solution with a Chaos troll... but I'm not sure this is how Andy Chambers made his own ogre:

      De rien, et si tu a d'autre scans de l'armée d'Andy Chambers ça m'interesse, je ne me lasse pas de lire ces pages.Pour l'ogre j'ai un amis qui est trés calé et qui a cru reconnaitre le corps d'une creature du chaos genre epoque post preslotta, mais il n'en sait pas plus.

      c'est con y a pas de photo du rat ogre prise de prés.

    hmm, I already have started collecting the chaos ratmen, almost a whole small unit of plague monks off ebay over the past two months, 7 of them, and the highest I've paid was about £1.50p

    Your plan didn't hold up as Dwarfs are still damn expensive in 2015 LOL

    The best article ever written for white dwarf, inspired me to build a skaven army, after being a stalwart dwarves only player.... led to collecting almost every army..... where are they now? Thank for for sharing.
