Here is the last guy of my monthly trio painted for the Brush Slave League. Again a Marauder dwarf, but this time, the painting wasn't so easy: look at the blade of his axe, and try to figure out what kind of matter it is... Is it fur, is it metal? Hard to say :p
Anyway, I'm quite happy with the final result, and I think it could be a decent champion for my unit... I'll see if I can find a better candidate for the job among the next models.
Never liked this mini but he looks magnificent here.
ReplyDeleteI think he makes a great champion. He has that 'come over here if you think your hard enough' pose.
Agreed: never understood what the sculptor wanted to do with the blade and the helmet... but for this unit of warriors, I need to recruit all the models I have with an axe, including the strange ones!
DeleteThis is going to be the most beautiful Dwarf army EVER. Jaeckel, I hate you.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's very kind of you! But you should check on CoolminiOrNot, you can see really beautiful dwarf armies there.
DeleteTrès réussi bravo!
ReplyDeleteEncore un modèle de nabot que je découvre :)
I think the blade's centre might have been sculpted to look like acid etched (or in this case pitted) steel, tiny amounts of acid are dripped onto the metal's surface and it slightly eats the metal enough to make such a pattern, but not deep enough to damage the metal, it's a technique 1000's of years old.
