The first warrior is not exactly a beauty, since the most convincing side of this model is... the back! (couldn't find a satisfying color for his jacket and the sculpture didn't help). He will therefore stand in the last rank of my unit.
The second dwarf is not a masterpiece either but at least, he's partly hided by his shield. For this one, I've used a Wargames Foundry Viking shield (again), but this time, I've filed the edge to reduce the diametre.
I'm still not sure it's sufficient. What do you think?
The warriors are looking good so far, nice NMM on 3 & 4. I like what you have done with the shields, it's amazing what a difference a couple of millimetres make. I think the colours work nicely for the dwarf with the cloak. I've noticed that sculpt is selling for a lot more on ebay these days, can't understand why thought it's not that rare?
ReplyDeleteWhat is it that you think isn't sufficient?
I was wondering whether the shield size reduction was sufficient or not.
DeleteAs for the prices on eBay, I have the feeling that all dwarves are selling at high prices these days :( (Maybe it's time to try to sell my second "cloak-man"!)
The shield reduction looks better than the original, I'd be hapy with them.
DeleteYou are right about the prices, some have some silly 'buy it now' offers. I'm not sure that they can justify them.
It could be that you, I and quite a few other members' fault for posting them on the brewery...?
Ah ah. If your explanation is right, it means that we have to paint a few elves to make the dwarf market collapse :o)
DeleteHi. What is the exact Name of the hooded dwarf. Cant find hin in the citadel Catalogue. And i Need him for my roleplay group.
ReplyDelete"Axe 34" on the 3rd page of Imperial Dwarfs in the Red Citadel catalogue
Deletesee, I kinda like the big shields, I feel that the dwarf is 'overcompensating' for his size :snicker:
ReplyDeleteStill these two look great none the less
